Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was just wondering has anyone here had work displayed (for sale also) in cafés or restaurants that display works of photographers?

If so how did you get to doing so, just talk to people that work there/owners?

I know at my old docs a patient actually gave them pics to display and put his business card in teh corner, this way they had free pictures and he could potentially make a few bob also.

Yeah I did it in Smock alley Cafe in temple bar. Cormack is the guys name, he's really dead on. Around the corner there is a cafe called Cha Cha Cha and they are willing to do it too. It's a case of walking in and asking and showing some work and if they like it, they put it up when they have a free slot.
I've got the same "Direction" road marking series going up in the Bernard Shaw bar around the 29th september to coincide with something else thats going on there on that date but I'm printing at A0 size which is almost impractically too big.
I knw the Globe show artwrok sometimes, but a friend actually some painting stolen from the Globe on two occasions with people unscrewing them from the walls and leaving the bar with them, some of them quite large!

It's a lot easier than you'd imagine to get people to show your work. Just go do it and you'll find somewhere.

    Good luck!

Petes hit on what I was just going to say.

You'll get many places to take your photos, but make sure they are insured under the owners insurance.

Also keep a regular eye on the place as Restaurants have an unhappy knack of closing down without notice.
