Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Best indoor aerial?

I would like to cancel NTL and save up a few bob for the new property tax.

We have three tellies - one is hooked up to a dish which gives us all the freeview channels. I'd like to have the local stations, RTE, TV3, etc. on the other sets, so I need two indoor aerials.

We live just north of Bray, Co. Wicklow near the sea. Can anyone recommend an aerial that will give us good reception of the Irish stations? I tried a cheap rabbit's ears type and it is useless.

    Thanks.

You probably need an external aerial or at least an attic mounted aerial.

Needs to be UHF suitable for the band of your local transmitter (Greystones) or wideband

Most "rabbits ears" are only designed for VHF wheras TV3 TG4 (and in some places RTE as well) are on UHF

If you're between Bray and Shankill, you should get an excellent signal from Three Rock, which is to your North-West. All the analogue channels are on UHF (plus the DTT tests). A cheapo UHF wideband aerial from Woodies or B&Q or similar hardware/electrical retailers, mounted in the attic should give you good reception.
PS - The reception from the Greystones relay probably won't make it over Bray Head as it is very low power. (apols Slegs, but you may not be familiar with the local terrain!)

Thanks for those suggestions. It looks like a UHF aerial in the attic is the way to go. :)
