    Hi folks,

I'm desperately trying to figure out the correct way of wording a null hypothesis which results in the use of a chi-square test (via SPSS crosstabs function). I've been at it for a while so I'd appreciate any suggestions to correct the following:

H0: Differences in <categorical variable 1> between residents of <location X> and <location Y> can be accounted for by differences in the distribution of <categorical variable 2> between the two groups.

My brain's gone so fuzzy I don't even know if I'm right or wrong at this stage. Thanks a million!
