I have a 2 year old solar hot water system and recently got a letter from the supplier/installer telling me that the sacrificial anode, which prevents corrosion needs to be replaced. Their cost is €270. This seems excessive to me. Has anyone had one replaced and how does this cost compare. Also has anyone replaced one themselves?

    Hi,

The price looks Ok in fact good for supply and installation.

You may do better fitting a Titanium Anode, they are wired in to a fused spur and don't need to be replaced again.
