just a word of caution and ensure that the people you are targeting have signed up or opted in for marketing by SMS. By default all Irish mobile providers assume you do not wish to receive any unsolicited marketing and sign you up to the National Directory Database (NDD) http://www.dataprotection.ie/viewdoc.asp?DocID=908&ad=1
So there are large fines if the person did not wish to receive the SMS....

Would second gibo_ie comments about opting in, very important.

We send a couple of hundred thousand text messages a year and have used www.clickatell.com since 2002, have always found them good to deal with.

We use www.iflow.ie for our fax services (very reasonable) and they provide sms services, never used them, but they are good on the fax side and are good people to deal with.

I can recommend Neon Solutions.com based in Cork and they offer a free trial from their web site might be worth checking out.

While getting the right price and service might seem like the biggest decision. You really want to be dealing with someone who has experience in this area and is not going to provide poor advice. There are some very key elements to doing such a a campaign such as having the reciients consent in te first place and providing them with an opt-out method i.e. reply STOP as is often seen on the premium SMS services.

This is an area that is widely policed and prosecuted by the DAta Protection Commissioner.
