Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I blame Danny Dyer for this, funny that some dutch hooliganism show is on the same day as this game.

It's a pity Danny Dyer hasn't been thrown into the middle of it all.

Disgraceful. Reports of running battles outside the ground. FA needs to come down like a ton of bricks on the idiot fans and the clubs.

Throw the book at the two clubs. Unacceptable

    Why the clubs?

Throw the book at those who are identified by cctv.

Shocking pictures on SSN of the carry on inside the ground. West Ham will get hit hard for this.

Because the clubs ultimately are responsible for their fans actions and we'll see them both punished heavily i'd imagine.

Unfortunitly I think punishing the clubs is the only way to go.

when that little gob****e celtic fan stormed the pitch against a.c milan, all the other celtic fans turned against when the club was threatened with punishment.

A handfull of these arseholes getting identifyed and banned from games wont stop this from occuring, but maybe turning the entire fan base against them will.

Dont think the west ham scorers helped the situation with their celebrations...Zola should have given instuctions for them to walk back to the center circle.

Easier said that done i suppose...im yet to score in a professional match so im sure the buzz takes over

People who get irked by players celebrating goals have no place in a football stadium.

Tom, celebrating a goal in front of Millwall fans is like flicking lit matches into a powderkeg...not very smart behaviour, and he should get his wrists smacked for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,900 ✭✭✭Eire-Dearg

West Ham players should've been more thoughtful with their celebrations.

    Think they were deliberate?

I regret tonight with all my heart. The consequences could be devastating.

The texts are probably already flying between Cass Pennant, Frank Harper, Danny Dyer and Guy Ritchie about a new film.

Players are booked for taking their shirts off (for provocation), there's loads they could do though whether they have the balls to do so is another matter.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 605 ✭✭✭ghouldaddy07

Players should be alowd to celebrate regardless of the oppostition. I doubt any of those morons in the crowd needed any provocation.

I remember a few years ago I was at Upton Park for a night match. I've been to many a football ground but I certainly felt there was a section of the crowd that made me feel a little uneasy. Add to that the sheer hatred between the Milwall 'fans' and the Hammers and tonight was always going to kick off. Closing the nearest tube station meant more fans were on the streets further away from the ground, further away from the CCtv, the ploice etc, thought it was a strange move.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,252 ✭✭✭✭stovelid

It's provocative to celebrate, but ever since the draw was made, this was coming anyway.

Especially as their chances to meet are so few these days.

That end of Upton Park is a warren outside isn't it? Plenty of places where ticket-less Millwall fans could meet some like-minded Wham fans..

Those on the pitch probably haven't been inside the ground for a million years but were attracted to this match and got tickets somehow, so harsh to punish the clubs...

There are always stupid scumbags who try to look hard. I don't think any amount of police can stop stupidity from occurring.

CCTV footage will be excellent and they will be identified, may not be in the nxt week or two but expect police raids to take place over the next month or two.

I would say that is less likely, this game is the holy grail for many West Ham fans, and there is no chance the club allowed this game go to general sale. On top of that, anybody with a current banning order wouldn't have had a hope of getting in.

I'd say the majority of the pitch invaders are regulars at the Boelyn.

I assume they were locked or plain dumb.

Judging by the glimpse of Sky I've just got, a lot have not even got their faces covered.

Will be some hefty bans heading out after that.

The amount of tickets that end of in the hands of touts though is unbelievable, come out of any tube station on match days, the amount of times I'm approached to buy or sell tickets, how they haven't cracked down on this yet is unbelievable and swipe cards have not helped to sort out this problem.

nope the majority are people going to get langers and have a fight and not football fans but football hooligans

With all due respect, there is nothing you've said there that preludes them also attending games on a regular basis.

Anyone who clings to the claim that people involved in crowd disorder at football games are not real fans is deluding themselves. I'm sure if OPENROAD has been in the away section at White Hart Lane he can attest to the venomous atmosphere post-game as the home fans stream past the away entrance and the Arsenal fans await their escort. We don't get a couple of thousand day trippers over for an off, they are regular fans who go week in, week out.

I've seen the same replicated at West Ham, Chelsea, Man Utd, Boro, I've mised Stoke, Burnley and Cardiff cos of personal reasons...I've heard of similar at Birmingham, Villa, Pompey, Wolves.

I know one or two lads to see from Spurs, and I can count the number of games they miss a season on one hand.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,350 ✭✭✭Het-Field

I wouldnt be suprised if the major hooligan element was out and around the vicinity of Upton Park, without coming within an asses roar of the Boylen.

I had a wonderful weekend (in spite of the result ) when they took on Spurs last sunday. It was great to re-engage with the club, and it is highly regrettable to see such activity tonight.

What went on inside the ground is apparently nothing in comparison to what took place outside the ground. Most of those wouldnt be football fans at all, and were there for the fight.
