Can someone recommend somewhere cheap & cheerful to rent a car for a couple of weeks in December in Waterford. No idea how much this would cost but just need something basic to get be from a to b.

Enterprise rent A Car on the old tramore road are pretty reasonable...
the price of car rental is really very cheap.... its the price of insurance that kills you, its nearly as much as the car.... per day....

+1 on enterprise, had a car from them for 6 weeks after i crashed my own. Staff are excellent and they're doing good deals at the moment...think it works out at €140 (7 days) for a class B (focus etc). If you have your own car with fully comp insurance, you can use that rather than buy the insurance from them.

Hertz can be cheap. Either go via the Aer Arann website or use CDP 1261109 for the best prices.

If you can order online, go to http://www.thrifty.ie/ and use the discount code "discovertramore". :)

They may be able to organise something for him, but I dont think they have a pickup point here. Iv had a lot of people use the discount (both Irish and tourists) for the car so if the OP was able to organise something it may have suited him. :)
