Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And he goes down again, disgraceful play by Eduardo, surely he should face a ban after the match for diving, there's no place for that

In that angle from behind the goal is the ref not behind the dive but to eduardos side of it? He should have had a good view of it. :(

Celtic may aswell through a few manly tackles his way now , let him knw what a tackle feels like.

And the ref looking right at it, where are they getting these monkeys reffing european games. Idiots. Continental refs are gimps.

If a player feels any contact........this happens in all teams.
Sure Caldwell is a dirty ***t.
    Is that excusable?

Caldwell has been useless this season :(

A deflection, an own goal and a penalty that was never. What's next? Maybe the ref will knock one in for them.

Whatever hope Celtic would have is out the window with decisions like that.

I liked Eduardo as well, thought he was one of the good ones.:(

Eboue now down holding his like hes been shot after no more than a body check by the defender. The sport is dying a slow death for me with this stuff.

Its funny because there literally was no contact. This is a rare occasion where it is a stone wall dive.

Also What does Caldwell have to do with anything?

    You are embarrasing yourself.

Arsenal have been the better team over the two legs so fr, you can't argue with that.

Errmmm I kinda covered that with the "whatever hope" bit. Of course they do. The point is any team can be beaten, but it's impossible when decisions like that are made.

Neither side are coverging themselves in glory in terms of well drilled football, Celtic have not been outplayed only out cheated.

Very very disappointed with Eduardo. Never would have expected that from him. Really is disgraceful:mad:

Anyway in general I'm very happy with the way we're playing this year, the pressing and fluidity is nice to see.

Not good to see diving but will it make any difference? Celtic have been absolutely ****e this evening.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 747 ✭✭✭WillieCocker

No one wants to see diving but the way i see it is this has happened before and will probably always happen but ultimately it was the refs BOO-BOO.
If Eduardo had got sent off for it, i would have had no issues.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,164 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

It was a really shít dive, can't believe a penalty was given for it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

I hope Eduardo is disiplined but love the way other supporters will come on and condem but will never condem their own players.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,588 ✭✭✭jaykay74

He'd want to be careful he doesn't end up with Ronaldo syndrome where because fo the blatant dives he won't get the benefit of the doubt for actual fouls. bit to go yet but I'm sure plenty of prem refs are watching.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,139 ✭✭✭Wreck

Very poor from Eduardo, I'm very much against this kind of stuff. It's disappointing from him too, as he is not shown anything like this before - it's not like he has a history of this, or a portfolio of dives like Ronaldo, Gerrard or Drogba. Hopefully we don't see anything like this from him again, as he has the potential to be a classy little player.

Have to say fair play for admitting this as an arsenal fan, although im not so sure it would have made much of a difference, could never see celtic getting back into it after going 2-0 down at home

That little scumbag Eduardo should be banned for 3 games. Completely agree with Giles. Hard enough for the bhoys without rubbish decisions like this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,900 ✭✭✭Eire-Dearg

Eduardo should be banned for that.

Well i feel that's not like Eduardo.
He's only a cheater on this occasion and to add more to the reasons why, his broken leg i'm sure makes him feel a little vulnerable and made him make a disgracefull choice.simple.
The fact is the referee did nothing and no Arsenal fan will dispute any further action after this as i believe we will see nothing like that from Eduardo again when he sees it himself.

as should any player who dives, would you agree?

    He should but won't.

What kind of idiots run football these days? How hard is it to ban players who dive, or use goal line technology? Really doesn't make any sense.

I wonder will the same posters calling for Eduardo to be banned be as quick to call for their own players to be banned who engage in it.
