Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, for those of you that are there, have been or just in the know:

I know this may seem like a rediculous question but can backpackers get away with wearing combat pants... I mean does wearing such gear draw unnecessary attention from the local authorities?

I know the north of SA would be more questionable, but im sure this has come up before for people?

Do I pack them or do I not?

oh ya here is an example of such pants : http://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/ishop/877/shopscr151.html

Nah you won't have any problems. I wore army camo shorts all over Latino America. You'll read about it online from people who have never experienced problems themselves but like to spread the fear. Only thing i'd advise against is a camo backpack. A lot of Latinos would be against Iraq/Afganistan and because you are white might assume you are American or British military and try mess with it. Especially on buses and airplanes. With over 3 years in that region i only heard of that twice.
