Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just watching the Champions League highlights and during the Sporting vs Fiorentina game i noticed Matias Fernandez taking a free kick. I thought "wtf i never heard about that!"

Fact is, Sky dont really care about anything other than the English football leagues, so unless its a big Eto'o to Inter type deal we rarely hear about it.

So this thread is for people to post some significant transfers others might not have heard about untill they pop up in a Champions League game.

Matias Fernandez, Villarreal to Sporting Lisbon.
Bafatembi Gomis, St. Ettienne to Lyon.
Mario Gomez, Stuttgart to Bayern Munich.

The only ones i can think of off the top of my head. Got any yourself?

Wholeheartedly agree, a lot of players have slipped under the radar as they are simply not reported on Sky or anywhere else.

    Diego to Juventus
    Lisandro Lopez to Lyon
    Yoann Gourcuff to Bordeaux

    Cannavaro to Juve

    Gabriel Heinze Real Madrid-Marseille
    Lucho Gonzalez Porto-Marseille
    David Rozehnal Lazio-Hamburg
    Maxwell Inter-Barca
    Olof Mellberg Juventus-Olympiakos
    Javier Saviola Real Madrid-Benfica

They're a few I can think of with Premiership experience or biggish names that went under the radar

Pretty sure he's too old to go back to Real now, even if they'd want him.

Rafinha to Juve (tonight- unconfirmed afaik)

According to Juve they are not interested as they don't have any Non-Eu places available in their squad.

German and Spanish media are reporting that Robben is moving today for 25. mil Euro from Real to Bayern. According to the reports in exchange (beside the 25. mil) Bayern offered Real first option on Ribery for next summer.

Jesus, Genoa are assembling a nice little squad. They will be a force to be reckoned with on Football Manager 2010 anyway.

Lucho Gonzalez to Marseille has to be the biggest, he jumped ship to a team of roughly the same quality as Porto, strange that no big teams were in for, excellent player. He'd make United and Liverpools starting XI better imo.

Much bigger league though... Or at least potentially.

Didn't Lisandro Lopez leave Porto too?

Yup, Lyon spent about 85% of the Benzema money on Lopez, bit weird really... Lyon are a strange fish this season, they could go either way, still reckon Marseille will win Ligue 1 though.

I fancy Bordeaux to retain Ligue 1. Gourcuff is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world. When he is in top form, the team are in top form. The guy is just brilliant and is sure to become one of the best players in the world.

Hadn't heard about this. Odd one considering he only signed last year.

United should send someone to watch Gourcuff's every touch of the ball this season at Bourdeaux. He's EXACTLY the player they need to revitalise their midfield and lets face it hes not gonna be at Bourdeaux more than one season.

I take it you knew all about Vidic and his massive potential when he signed for Man Utd a few seasons ago then ya? Chygrynskiy is a very good defender who is regarded very very highly by the Eastern European fans I know, sure it's alot of money, but this transfer window has been consistently ridiculous in it's prices.

Ye its just the money im talking about.Sure Vidic signed for no more than 10 million i dont think

From what I remember United paid 10.5 million for Vidic and Evra. Its stuck in my head because Newcastle paid a similar fee for Luque.

22 million is a lot of money for any player, especially one with such a low profile outside of the east. But they barca did pay something like 16 for Martin Caceres who was pretty terrible and was shipped on last time I heard to Juventus on loan.
