Buying a phone from abroad???

I was thinking about getting a phone from the net now the phones say they are unlocked but one of the ones i was looking at said this

This phone can work at triband 850/900/1800/1900 GSM network, it can't work at CDMA network. please make sure your SIM card carrier is 850/900/1800/1900 GMS network before your order this phone. we'll not answer for uncompatibility of you SIM card and the provider carrier.If it is not that will uncompatible with the phone.

Now i havnt a clue what this means, would my vodafone sim card work in this or not does anybody know?

Vodafones network here is gsm 900/1800 and 2100 for 3g.

It should work for calls, texts and, but dont buy this for big internet usage

The CDMA network would be 3.
So if they are 850/900/1800/1900 GSM they would work on vodafone,o2,meteor.
But did you notice these phones are massive...5.1 inches long definitely wont fit in the pocket anyway.Make a template of the phone to check the size.

ok well ill probly go for the second one anyway if i even bother!! ah id be trowin it in 2 d aul handbag anyway so like wudnt worry bout the size of it, handbags big enuf 2 so, just wanted to know whether it would work over here or not, not big into phones, just like the look of em but the last two i got were cheap ones and kept freezing on me wreckin my head so was guna get that lg360 or sumthing but i know someone who has it and they said it freezes on em so wanted to get something that looks similar and isnt ridiculously expensive!! :D thanks

so wud ye say neway that the second one would be grand to use it says on that one that its GSM Triband so vodafone sim would be ok on that? just want to make sure don't wanna waste my money, dont have a clue about phones
