Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just a looking for info on both home printing + shop printing.

Recommendations on a printer to buy for home printing, cost, ink cost, paper cost and quality ?

Shop printing v's home printing. Pro n cons ? Prices etc

Also if you know of a good place to get photos printed post it, price + location + sales/bargains. Nationwide :)

Budget hugely comes into it and also taste and size.

There are many inkjet printers to choose from and as far as I know Epson is the best to go for. I have an Epson wide format myself which I love, now my being an odler model and being very very lucky in getting it I didnt spend a fortune but these can cost you in excess of 3k I think. Having said that I print my own canvasses and prints up to 24 inches on the smaller side for prints, 20 for canvasses. After that I go to Steve, stcstc / 360-dpi.com. Steve gives a very personal service and will focus on the quality, if something needs to be tweaked to perfect he will let you know rather than just print it and leave it for you to notice afterwards.

Now up to a 8x10 I tend to go to Harvey Norman labs as they are close by and cheap and I prefer the lab finish. In the next week or son I will invest in a dye sub printer which in my opinion gives the best finish although these are quite expensive. Cheapest one is a Mitsubishi, cant remember product code. If you go this route you are talking €800 for the one I am getting or if you want to go fuji or anything else up to 8x10 in excess of €1400. You need to be sure you get one that has both glossy and matt paper, some only have glossy believe it or not. The cost for the one I am getting if you waive the inital outlay is circa 60c per 8x10 as opposed to the best local price being HN at €2.50. That is not including cost of time and travel. After circa 500 prints you have saved the cost of your printer really. Now there are ones more expensive that will print at less but you need a higher budget.

    I hope this helps.
