So, I was about to register for an elective there a few seconds ago (last minute thing couldn't make up my mind) but its says registration will be closed until the 5th Sept at 6:00pm. That mean that I only have 55creds. What is the chances of me being able to register for an elective tomorrow when it reopens??

(PS, yeah I know that I already posted a thread on this subject)

There's going to be electives left over, definitely. You just might have to choose one that doesn't interest you all that much.

You can still register, but you're just picking over the scraps that are left over :(

Oh, unless you have in-programme electives - then you might get something decent and related to your programme.

So eh, what time today for my electives? Need to know earlier rather than later, othewise I'll have to wait till Monday!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16 Eamon27

The registration re-opens at 5 later today, so it'll be by that time at the latest I imagine.

Btw, what does HEA mean, which building(?) is it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,391 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Well if they not over-filled then your fine yeah.

Got 1, missed out on the other.

The system for assigning electives is brutal.

Yeah - small "admin" detail, like the actual name of the building!! Don't give advice if you don't know for certain!!

I'm completely messed up, they say I got offering 2, which is on Wednesday evening, but when I opened the timetable where "change times" is, it shows that I'm signed up for the other classes (Monday and Wednesday mornings)...

doing alcohol and drug policy semester one and intro to cognitive science semester two.
though when I go into my personalized timetable the alcohol and drug policy doesn't come up, and when I look at my calendar in the registration page it says 'weeks: 38'. anyone know why this is??

Nothing wrong with the system as such; it's a numbers game when it comes down to it. I got both the ones I requested, but they were in-programme, and not on any "easy electives" list by a long shot. I hope I don't live to regret that ...
