Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I stopped watching this thread once that argument broke out, that paired with someone claiming Scholes was never world class

Well his tackling has never been - probably not even non-league class

look at the CL Final. Rooney vs. Tevez. Rooney in the first half runs the show. Tevez in the first half misses 2 easy chances to finish the game. To suggest he was ever on par with Rooney is imo, laughable.

Ah yes, the CL final that you wouldn't have reached if it wasn't for Tevez' VITAL goal against Lyon...

It's actually more amusing to see how United fans are belittling him now that he has left. Ah sher he was always shi*e really.......

True enough - but if ever you needed a player to take down a midfielder from behind with a dirty tackle, you can always count on Scholes!

    Random.

Man Utd won the 2nd leg 1-0 so that would of put it to Extra time, and that's ignoring the fact that Man Utd would of attacked alot more if they had to get a winner.

Though I loved Tevez at Man Utd, it just wasn't to be.

Does anyone who thinks Tevez is on a par with Rooney fancy a wager on him scoring the same or more goals as Rooney this season?

in fairness how is scoring more goals going to prove who is best?? lets add in dirk kuyt into this debate

in 2007/08 tevez scored 14 league goals to rooneys 12
in 2008/09 tevez scored 5 league goals, rooney 12 and kuyt 12

so kuyt was more than twice the player that tevez was last year ;)

oh course rooney will score more goals this year, he will get to take all the penos this year, half of ronaldos goals were either penos or freekicks so thats alot of goals :D

Anyone who thinks Tevez and Rooney are just about scoring goals, really need to address the way they view football.

Who is to say Owen wouldn't have got us a goal in that game, had he been our player then instead of Tevez?

The simply fact is that Tevez performed poorly for us last season. People will say that is down to being rotated in and out of the team - well, that is a fact of life at Old Trafford. If he can't perform in a rotation role, then he is not suited to United. He could do very well as a first team player at City, but that doesn't mean he'd have done well for us this season in the rotation role again.

Probably not that far off the mark tbh. OK so Kuyt doesn't come close to Tevez in terms of skill but in terms of overall contribution to his respective team, Kuyt rates far higher
