Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm looking for a free video converter that'll run on Windows 7, preferably one that has predefined settings for converting to iPod MP4

I've tried Super and it's not great really, there's too many settings to get right and it's slow

    Any suggestions?

I haven't used it much, but there is an open source one called Handbrake that might be worth looking into?

I just tried Handbrake, the program seems to run ok but it won't actually convert anything.

It goes to "100% Complete" instantly and no file is saved. Maybe it's a compatibility thing

    I'll try WinFF now

    Thanks guys

WinFF crashes as soon as I open it.

Damn, I thought Windows 7 compatibility was pretty good

I found another converter that works like a treat, it's not free though but pretty damn good, actually deserves to be paid for :pac:

WinAVI Video Converter was a great one that I used.

MeGUI - converts anything to MPEG-4 ASP (Xvid or x264). I have it running on Windows 7 64bit with no problems.

Here's a tutorial on making vids for your Ipod.

I 2nd Super. Lovely program. Drag a file into it, select AVI in the first menu, DivX in the 2nd menu, and mp3 in the 3rd, and thats it. Also, it's free. It takes as long as your system will allow it (if you have Windows7 running nice and shiney on f**k all RAM, it's gonna be slow).

It's the CPU that dictates encoding speeds more so than available RAM.

I got Super running nicely yesterday, there were some DLL files missing on Win7.

It's nice software for something that's free but it still feels bulky imo, and the UI gives me a sad

The program I linked to earlier is fairly nice. Just because it's not free doesn't mean it can't be ahem

It's just nice to use, and works great. It converts anything, not just FLV files so I dunno why it's called what it's called tbh.. just drag and drop the files and it works
