looking for a bit of advice,
contract is up with Vodafone just now (Vodafone At Home Broadband up to 3Mbps) land line inc - which we dont use at all for outgoing calls but as it is costing us nothing its handy to have for incoming calls!

we are based in blessington and sky as our TV so UPC is out already as they dont provide to us!

anyone know of any good deals on out there???

You could always sign up for a new 12-month contract with Vodafone. Their 3Mb package is now €40 a month which is pretty competitive compared to DSL packages from other providers.

they currently charge me €49 a month but even at €40 a month i just dont feel its a good deal?? but if thats the going rate then i guess its easier stay with them....

could be urban myth but always hear people talking about 25 -30 a month packages - maybe this is ex VAT or just start up price!!??

Or not including line rental, or for slower speed, or from a non-DSL provider.

You won't get DSL, including the line rental, at 3-7Mbps, for less than €40 a month.

You can get a 2Mb package from Smart on an LLU exchange for about €34. UPC will provide a 3Mb BB-only package for €28 (assuming you don't sign up for a tv package as well)

Unless you count midband, you won't get any cheaper than that.

IMHO Vodafone are one of the better ISP's - I have their 7Mb package and it's great, no problems whatsoever, and the free BEWAN Wireless modem works a treat also (despite my original skeptism).

For the sakem of a few quid I'd renew with Vodafone for peace of mind.

    My 2 cents
