Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Working abroad

I'm defering my MSc until next year as I don't want to get into debt, therefore I want to save like mad this year. However, I want to do something different abroad. Has anyone any suggestions of lucrative jobs (eg mining in Australia or working in oil rigs are options for guys but I'm a girl). The only thing I can think of is teaching english in somewhere like S. Korea, I'm pretty much pretty much open to anything (as long as it's legal and not morally questionable!!) Cheers

I taught english in Spain for a few years - it wasn't highly lucrative, but I enjoyed it immensely, met lots of peeps & it paid the bills! Best of luck finding something - I'm sure you will.

What kind of work would you be looking to get into in the mines im oz? engineering? driving? support services(cooking, cleaning)? what kind of experience do you have? mines have reduced staff numbers lately in australia due to the downturn so it is more difficult to get into, and alot of the work is gotten through having a contact in the company. Keep an eye out on seek.com.au for work. As for oil rigs, you need to have a heli crash survival course done to work there, when there was demand before, the companies would pay but now people as forking out for it themselves with no garrauntee of work.
