Don't Give Up by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush. Recorded in the '80s and all about depression that can follow unemployment. Topical then and, unfortunately, topical now

    The Clash- Stay Free

'We met when we were at school.....' that line, everytime. What a band.
Its always between that and The Dubliners- Easy and Slow.

Strangers When We Meet - David Bowie

There are 2 versions. Buddha of Suburbia and the 1.Outside version. I like both to be honest. I marginally prefer the Outside version. Most non-Bowie fans I've spoken to about favourite songs seem to have been puzzled every time I choose this as my all time favourite. I suppose out of such an expansive back catalogue it will always be difficult to choose one and any choice would bring some flak! Strangely I find it difficult to adequately explain why I love this so much. I don't think the lyrics are his best but they are good. I love the music. I can't quite put my finger on why it's so special. It just is. :)

Could only be my favorite song by my favorite band Across The Univerise by the Beatles. It has everything that makes them so brilliant lyrics, music everything sheer brilliance. There is a few versions but the best is the version on let it be naked below,

George Martin himself said this remastered version was how it always was intended to be after phil spector's frankly dismal attempts.

(On same note cant fuping wait to here the remastered albums:))
