Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Injured mechanic and Eau Rouge crash. Looks like both will be okay, not a very good camera angle but was quite a sudden stop

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium — A mechanic was in an induced coma Saturday after a pit lane accident before the start of the GP2 race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Vasco Rossi, a 57-year-old mechanic for the Trident Racing team, was airlifted to hospital following a pit lane accident before the start of the Formula One feeder series race.

Rossi suffered a head injury after Ricardo Teixeira's car caught on a cable as he accelerated through the pit lane. The cable caught on a wheel gun, which crashed down on Rossi's head.

GP2 spokeswoman Alexa Quintin told The Associated Press that medical tests had come back "negative" but that Rossi would be placed in an artificial coma for three days.

"Everything is good, he's out of danger," Quintin said.

Rossi's accident delayed the start by 15 minutes, while the finish was also troubled after driver Stefano Coletti crashed straight into the wall at the high speed Eau Rouge corner with two laps remaining.

Quintin said the Durango driver was also airlifted to hospital but that the 20-year-old Monaco native was out of danger.

"Nothing's broken, but he's in a lot of shock obviously," Quintin said. "He should be completely fine."

Don't see anything of the mech there, hopefully he'll be ok.

It was before the race and not shown, delayed the start of the race a few minutes
