Hacksaw?

I need to raise the saddle on a bicycle but the grooves on the screw I need to loosen are completely worn away so it won't budge

Would it be possible to hacksaw through the screw (there is a gap for me to do this), or what would be the best option ?

    Any help appreciated, thanks.

    A picture would help tbh

If you say its a screw,, is it a phillips head that is worn? and does the other end go into a hitting, or just held with a back nut?

You could loosen the back nut, you might need to hold the screw/bolt with a vice grips or similar
