Not sure about there, how far are you able to travel to one.
I know there's coco dog club in cork and happier hounds in abbeyleix both are on the net if you Google them.

    +1

I've got two dogs and been going to Christine for training since Christmas. I can't recommend her enough, she's excellent with dogs. Obedience lessons are on a one to one basis and there isn't much she doesn't know. She's been working with dogs for 30 years. I travel over from Boyle every week and I think it's money well spent. I did all the obedience work and now my dogs are doing heelwork to music. They've come on in leaps and bounds.

And that's me with my Jack Russells jumping over the jump on the main page of her website!

Glad to hear some good reports from one2one, seriously thinking of going there.

Just a quick question though rainbow trout, are all the obedience classes on a one to one basis? Its just my fella is quite well behaved when theres no distractions, so id need a class where there's plenty of distractions from other dogs and such, he also would need the socialisation with other dogs as he has 'other dog issues'!! And do they also teach agility aswell??

Theres also another woman that used to teach agility up at markree castle every fortnight that is now doing obedience, shes german I think, have you any experience with her?

All the obedience classes are one to one. However there are a couple of other groups on, where you can bring your dog to socialise. Christine usually works off the basis that a dog can only join the group when it's learned basic obedience so there will be some basic manners put on the dog essentially. Which I think is fair, it wouldn't be fair to everyone else in the group if there was one dog going mental and setting all the other dogs off especially if he has no training. My dogs didn't join the group until they had learned some manners! :D

Chris often asks me to come to my lesson 10 mins early so a new dog she's training can meet my dogs to see how they'd get on socially maybe for future introduction to the groups. There's also a dog agility group being run at the moment, same set up once the dog has basic obedience.

I don't know anything about the woman at markree, I've only ever gone to Christine.

Ya that seems fair enough about group lessons, she sounds like a good trainer. My fella has basic obedience in that he can sit, stay, down and all the usual things, what he really needs is to learn how to behave with other dogs and probably more importantly how I should handle him around other dogs!! I think il definetely give her a call, if you ever see a cairn called charlie there in the future that'l be him, hes hard to forget!!!:D

€20 per lesson. A lesson is half an hour.
