If you are using microsoft OS then you can use performance monitor to monitor the processes running on your PC and set up alerts etc when thresholds are being crossed, click on Start then Run and type in perfmon then do a bit of research to find out which processes you should be monitoring

Everybody's PC will be bottlenecking somewhere.

If you list your specs, people will be able to give you a decent idea of where your main bottleneck will be.

What do you think is the culprit? CPU, GPU, memory, HDD?

With games it's pretty easy to bench and find the issue, on a non-gaming machine it can sometimes be hard to work out what's causing the biggest problem.
