Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Shocking

A man has been shot dead close to the Ministry of Sound nightclub in Southwark, south London.

The man, who has yet to be formally identified, is thought to be in his 20s.

He was killed when shots were fired on Gaunt St, near the popular nightspot, at approximately 4.40am this morning.

Next of kin have yet to be reached. A post-mortem will be scheduled in due course, police said.

A second man, 29, was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital with a gunshot wound. His condition is described as stable.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said an incident room will open later under detectives from the Specialist Crime Directorate.

Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

    Hardly shocking now come one.

My point exactly, the shooting has nothing to do with Dance Music or The Nightclub.

There was a guy shot a few weeks ago and he owned a few MOS compilations. Not a crime in itself but still shocking stuff all the same.

Had it been a Clubland mix cd however we would definately have a clear motive.

Seriously though, johnny, its London ffs. People get shot there all the time. There were 8 or 10 shootings that i heard of within 2 miles of where i lived over there in a 6 month period. And i lived in a quiet area.

Was it near a well known club or a record shop?

fcuk you wa*ker:mad: and any other cu*t as well it is relevant, it happened outside a well known club which could posisbly have implications for that club as there have been many shootings outside this club so the authorities could try and close it down

Holy Moley is he alright? This is no big deal happens every week in Ireland, just because its outside a nightclub doesn't mean its an more/less serious!

Seems a little startled, but otherwise fine. He does live in Elephant & Castle afterall, not the nicest place I've ever been to

this thread is legendary!!!I stayed with friends in Elephant and Castle for a week a few years ago. The fact that they´d even report a shooting there baffles me. That place after dark was a fcuking hellhole. Gangsters everywhere!!! Anyone who knows the area at all can see the hilarity to this thread.

On a more interesting note, Aphex twin apparently lived on that big roundabout (beside MOS) when he was in his twenties. Highly irrelevant to this thread but i figure it´s of more interest than the OP.

Apparently the police said it was involving a dispute over the origins of hardcore breaks that got out of hand.

ah jaysus, i´m in the lobby of the hotel here laughing my ass off at that, getting some strange looks!!!

speaking from a fashion sense, getting shot in a club is SOOOOOOO mid 90´s.

500k worth of not-actually-illegal-drugs seized. Funny cause I heard that there are no actual 'Ecstasy' pills around at the moment they are all just mixes of BZP and DNDZ and all that sh1tty stuff

Yeah was reading that earlier

Elephant and Castle's not nearly as bad as its made out to be. I've lived here five years, and can't remember anyone I know personally ever being involved in a violent crime in that whole time.
I had more trouble living in Clonskeagh in Dublin.

The Ministry of Sound, like any big night club does tend to attract a fair few drug dealers, and I'd wager that the people involved weren't actually from the area.
