Bizzaro world when everyone is making comedy posts and Yuletired is being serious.

Pokerproposal €1k is a little too much for some people, and since it's not set in stone I suggest we decrease the amount and include more people. Also there are plenty of other opportunities to make money with such things beyond EPT's and even poker in general.

So I propose we get around 1.5 million people together and each pay around €2 and then we put lots of balls with numbers in a machine and draw them out, giving whoever gets most numbers increasing amounts of money. We could patent the idea then.

    Hello Op,
If there were 5 players good enough to score over 100k in those events they wouldn't be looking for a deal like this. Just think if you win 100k you only get your money back? You'd need a really big score from 5 players and it's highly unlikely (unless you get Dermot Blaine) for it to be profitable for them or you.
You would be better off getting 20 of your mates/investors to put 1 player in and hoping to score from that.
I'm surprised there is not more of this type of thing on here actually, 20 or so send one player to an EPT and hope to score

There is no harm in putting ideas forward though.

    I'm in.

But only if the funds can be held in a reputable bank in Nigeria, and I must use my credit card to hand over the stake money.

What reasonably skilled tournament player would want to play a big tournament when he gets such a tiny % of the payout if he wins. What's in it for him?

the only reasonably skilled tournament player, are the ones with big bankroll or backers as as far as i can see.

look at any good player and the reason he stays alive is because he has hit a big score or is rich or is backed

this way, if he thinks about it could be over the longterm a cheaper and more profitable option

The discussion of a staked team of Irish players at a major event could get those players earmarked as colluders.

every big tournament in the world has colluders

    wake up man

OP has some valid points here. Most of it however is very ott.

Team idea is very valid imo (not colluding obv) but probably more like hendon mob etc started off when they took %s of each other at events.

I would say your best bet is to find 3 or 4 players that are happy with each others standard of play and would want to try this and have them each put up the 5k for the tournament with winning being split amongst all 4 (maybe bigger % for player that cashes etc). How they want to raise the 5k would be up to them and they can bring in investors if they wish.

    tyvm Wolves,

at least you can discuss this in an adult manner
not like the children that post here
nobody is saying it is the best idea in the world
its just a discussion on how to maybe win some money
in poker and trying to take some of the gamble out of it.

but i suppose the children will latch onto gamble or something

IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO WIN ONE OFF THESE TOURNAMENTS ON YOUR OWN.

Hasn't everyone who has ever won a poker tournament won it on their own?

So really, it's just very hard to win one of these.

Better off using a similar idea for 500+ buyin events around ireland. We dont stand a chance against them scandys :)

In my experience of life anybody who has ever used the term "smart arse" has been a monstrous moron of epic proportions, you know the kind of person who thinks their digital clock is being a smart arse because they don't understand its 24 hour display.

If you want to just have a pop at the people who disagree with you, then you don't have a chance. I assume if everyone said, it's a great idea, they wouldn't be sheep????

TBH, the chances of an unknown anonymous person on the internet securing €100,000 in funding are about the same as me winning the Lotto tomorrow night, and I don't do the Lotto.

The thread has very little life left in it as far as I can see, but I'll give you til the morning to see if anything develops. But try to concentrate on being constructive in your posts.

    Ste05

P.S. If you decide the best thing to do is get into an argument with me in this thread, I'll just lock it up, so don't do that.

Can see a method in the OP's madness, This could be completly stupid but thought id through it out there anyway. OP idea is way ott but someone said it was not set in stone i think.

Take the up coming WCOOP ME (entry fee $5.2k)

Round up 20 players from boards who trust and respect each other and are willing to put up $260.
Run a 20 man tournament on stars with the winner playing the WCOOP ME.
Who ever wins gets 24% of himself and all the others get 4% of the action.

    Oh and in before

That type of arrangement has been done before, and is a lot more sensible than the OP's suggestion.

It could even be done regularly on a smaller scale for the Sunday million or a Stt for the iPoker $250k

to be honest i had some thing else wrote about this today but decided to be nice for a change . lol

but now as u think we are all sheep here which i must agree with u sometimes we are .
    so here are my thoughts

1, nice idea but no thought really put into it
    2 . 100 people 1k each 5 players 5 epts 20k each
3 . as some of the touries are 8k and final one 10 k others 5k which one do they play

    4. how do they get there flights , hotels , expenses while there

5 , people who buy in what % do they get 0 .75 of 1% as players need to get something for there troubles

6 . so if everything is sorted for the players flights hotel entry few quid for food if needed
they win something then players cut and everything else taken out of prize fund they need to come 4th or better for return to the 100
    ___________________________________

Perhaps greyhounds as well. Smaller upkeep fees for when we have to move down levels and im sure we could find a poker player in the industry to look after them for us.

Another example of teams, think of all the english players who come over here to play,
do you think they play as individuals
    get real
    they all come in teams

As for the English teams..... well we found them out in Galway this year and they won't be back...lol
