I think I should get the parachute, because I'm great. In fact, I think I should get both parachutes, in case one doesn't work.

It does not have to be 1000 euros
the propsal is not set in stone

Even if you were to enter all 20 into one EPT and they could collude openly with each other (which obviously is not the case) then the chances of one person winning it would be pretty small anyhow.

Also, I would have no interest in playing an event where, if I won, I would only get 1% of my winnings. Even if "THIS PROSAL IS NOT SET IN STONE", there is no proposal that is similar that is going to happen.

On another note, this whole thread rings a bell similar to the one that was rung with the 'American' lad that wanted to come over here and start a series of poker tournaments with some crazy idea. Must look into those similarities a bit more.

Using 2 accounts in the same thread is a pretty big fail.

    why so many hostile responses.
its only a proposal to get people to think different
maybe this is what is wrong with Ireland
we are just a greedy little nation, who think we are looking after
everybody, but in reality only looking out for ourselves.
we should use our thinking head instead of your money/greedy head.

Once again, look how the scandanavians do it re poker,
and look how their country operates,
and maybe their is a correlation in that

    Another example of teams

think off all the english players who come over here to play
do you think they play as individuals
    get real
    they all come in teams

this is why as a very small community we should look at
    something like this

Plenty of Irish players swap %'s regularly or stake people but this just isn't going to work, even if it's not set in stone.

I think its a great idea. I might be interest in putting up 5k and nominate Ivey as a player.

You really haven't thought this through.
The goal is to win one of these with a team.
The discussion of a staked team of Irish players at a major event could get those players earmarked as colluders.
Get 100 players (non players) to put up 1000 euros each.
    Total 100,000 euro.
    enter 5 players at 5000 each = 25,000.
    4 events left x 25,0000 = 100,000.
What reasonably skilled tournament player would want to play a big tournament when he gets such a tiny % of the payout if he wins. What's in it for him?
    Selecting 5 players to go
Who nominates these players? Who decides who votes? Are all votes equal? Is some anonymous poster on the internet going to have the casting vote?
Option 1 put up candidates and vote.
Option 2 have closed tournament on a website
    Option 3 have a draw
2 : so whoever luckboxes one online tournament represents a 100000EUR syndicate?
3 : leave it to chance?
    The money
5 people will open a bank account
and nothing can be withdraw without the 5 peoples knowledge
    This is just fail.

All of my criticisms are obviously not set in stone.

    Hello Op,
If there were 5 players good enough to score over 100k in those events they wouldn't be looking for a deal like this. Just think if you win 100k you only get your money back? You'd need a really big score from 5 players and it's highly unlikely (unless you get Dermot Blaine) for it to be profitable for them or you.
You would be better off getting 20 of your mates/investors to put 1 player in and hoping to score from that.
I'm surprised there is not more of this type of thing on here actually, 20 or so send one player to an EPT and hope to score
There is no harm in putting ideas forward though.

Bizzaro world when everyone is making comedy posts and Yuletired is being serious.

Pokerproposal €1k is a little too much for some people, and since it's not set in stone I suggest we decrease the amount and include more people. Also there are plenty of other opportunities to make money with such things beyond EPT's and even poker in general.

So I propose we get around 1.5 million people together and each pay around €2 and then we put lots of balls with numbers in a machine and draw them out, giving whoever gets most numbers increasing amounts of money. We could patent the idea then.
