Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

    I have a Samsung VP-D381 Mini DV Camcorder;

    Samsung%20VP-D381%20Mini%20DV%20Camcorder.jpg

    I am wondering does anyone know where I can get a suitable USB cable for this camcorder.

    Its outlets are:

    1) DC IN
    2) AV
    3) DV

    (Noobness over :))

    Had a quick google for the specs, and it doesn't have a USB connection, so you're outta luck. It does have a IEEE1394 port, better known as Firewire, but you'd need a firewire port on your PC as well.

    You may be able to connect your AV out (composite), via some sort of adapter (eg. dazzle) to a USB port, or straight into a suitable graphics card.

    Someone else may be able to expand on that???

    good luck with the use cagle, get yourself into maplins or the like and they will sort you out with a firewire card and cable, if you don't mind waiting try deal extreme.

    as suggested you could try one of the usb capture cards but if your spending money anyway better of to use the firewire (DV) connection

    You could if you have the av cable for the camcorder, but you will loose some quality doing it that way

    what do you want to do with the video... put it on DVD? or on the internet?
    Do you have a dvd recorder connected to your TV that you can use?

    Would say using a dvd recorder might be more straight forward, if it has a firewire (i-link connection) then that should give decent quality, good guide here http://www.supermediastore.com/tape-minidv-to-dvd.html

    I had one of those and it seemed to miss a few frames here and there,And it really annoyed me although it could of been down to my PC but it was fairly high spec..Either way for the price you should try it,But i think Firewire would be better..
