    Hi guys,
    gonna do an order from AkihabaraShop.jp since they're open this week (finally!!) -- if anyone needs some modding parts (sticks, buttons, button plugs, etc), gimme a PM & I'll add you to the order.

    Order will be placed on Friday so Thurs night is the last call.

    I'm looking for a set of buttons for my SE Kiki.
    I know you'll think I'm a lunatic, but I quite like the stock SE buttons - what would be of a similar feel to them? (What are in the TE for example?)

    2 black buttons for start and stop [smaller]

    A box of used japanese schoolgirl underwear please unless they've made it illegal.

    @A-trak, Sanwa OBSF in the TE, though they're a lot lighter - but IMHO, you get used to them very quickly. Could also try Seimitsu buttons, they're quite decent.

    @placebo, I know what you need :)

    @Retr0gamer, I think you want Jlist.com ;)

    Hmm interesting - do you need to order micro-switches as well?

    I'm afraid Sanwa OBSF & Seimitsu PS-14 microswitches are more-or-less incompatible (Sanwa OBSFs only fit in Seimitsu PS-15s), and neither will fit in the stock Madcatz buttons (which are round instead of square). :-/

    Well, it DOES have an age verification thingy! :D
    Jbox.com for SFW.

    I might want some stuff, I'm still undecided on whether to mod my FS3 or get an new stick...
    I'll give ya a shout tomorrow if I want anything.

    Right, I've decided to give building my own stick a go...
    So what parts would you advise. I was thinking either a sanwa JLF or a seimitsu LS-32 and sanwa buttons but I'm not quite sure, what do you think about them?

    AFAIK the Tekken 6 cab in quirkeys uses Sanwas (pretty sure on this) and a JLF (not entirely so sure on this but I think so), you could go in there to check them out if you've never tried them before.

    It's all down to preference, personally I think the JLF is the best stick I've used (haven't used an LS-32, though I have used an LS-33).

    The TE has sanwas, does it not?
    I've used one of them and I thought the buttons were a tiny bit too sensitive... but I'd say I'd adjust after a while.

    Yep, was just thinking in case you hadn't used them at all, the TE is sanwas and a JLF. They are very sensitive but you do adjust easily enough (well, I did anyway after using EX2 buttons for months and then SE buttons). If you think they might be too sensitive you could order Seimitsu buttons instead, but really I think sanwas are easy enough to get used to - you just have to be more careful about how you rest your hand (not press down on the buttons etc.).

    You would probably be better off with Seimitsu buttons, they arent as sensitive. I tried a few sticks and buttons but ive settled on sanwa jlf stick and Seimitsu ps14 buttons. Its perfect for me now.

    kk, thats probably a good idea as I kept getting EXs with the TE...
    One more question: snap-in or screw-in, which is (a) easier to work with and (b) better for use?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,721 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

    I would advise screw-ins unless you're building/modding a stick with a metal top panel.

    They use the same microswitches so no difference in play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 319 ✭✭DarkTalant

    Right...
    in that case get me:
    8 green PS-14-G-N(seimitsu screw-ins)
    2 white PS-14-D-N(seimitsu screw-in start buttons)
    and a blue JLF
    Also if there's anything really really really really important that I've forgotten(aka don't know about) feel free to order that for me so long as it isn't too expensive as this is the first time I've built a stick... but I can't think of anything else that I can't get easily enough...
