Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anybody know if I can do this?

My company uses Outlook to send emails and I'm wondering if there is any way to auto assign a number to each e-mail?

My head is wrecked trying to figure it out.

    Thanks,

    Jay.

if you have an exchage server then you get a unique message ID which you can see in the header of the email

    check outlook headers for similar

http://www.devnewsgroups.net/group/microsoft.public.office.developer.outlook.vba/topic37404.aspx - seems to indicate the property may not be in older versions

Oh yeah message.id is not something like a usable number , more of a unique reference used internally

Thanks for the reply but I was hoping to use the generated number as a reference number for our outgoing quotations. As in, I send an email quote to a customer and the system auto applies a number which can be retrieved when needed in the future.
I see there is an add on for Outlook called "Bells & Whistles" and this seems to do the job but I don't fancy having to pay for something ($30) if I can do it myself some how.

    Any other ideas out there.

I'm like a fish out of water in Outlook!

    J.
