    Following heavy rain today and even more on the way we have no alternative but to cancel our event due to be held this weekend. This decision has been taken very reluctantly but in the interests of the safety of horses and riders we have no choice.

    Thanks to all our members and friends for all the work on the course and showjumps etc.All cheques will be destroyed

    That's such a pity, esp with the amount of work that's gone in already, but with the horrendous weather there was no option. We've had over an 1.5 inches of rain since Monday. Everywhere is sodden, including the normally well-drained arena! :(

    The weather's playing havoc with the racing, too: Clonmel is cancelled tomorrow.

    Russellstown isn't going to try and re-schedule or is that not an option?

    There seems to be a shortage of dates currently :( but on the plus side all the course is ready to go and all the show-jumps painted.

    Ready to go yeah but unfortuately no one to use it.:( It is as a great shame that Russellstown had to cancel again this year but hopefully you lot will get a bit of use of it with maybe a hunter trial or two..

    That happened to the Derby in Cheval twice this year, it had to be cancelled :( stupid weather.
