Quite simply I got access to a really decent venue at zero cost, completely impossible in Dublin, and did I mention the event is FREE, again, unlikely to be able to do this for free in Dublin.
Its only 30 Minutes from Dublin on the N7 so hope to see a lot of ye there.
Great response on the facebook page and through the boxoffice.

Any half-way straightforward way of those of us without cars getting out there? Sounds grand but it not being in Dublin is a bit of a PITA

Why funny you should ask Jim.
Irish rail runs a service called the Arrow which runs from Heuston to Newbridge pretty much every hour, every day. Its like the Dart, only cleaner and moving :)

Hi franklyshocked - I'm new around here. I posted up an introduction thread of the main electronic/dj'ing forum.

This sounds really cool - I look forward to going.

Is there going to be any names there from the industry doing workshops or giving talks?

    Thanks.

Anybody heard anything back about tickets yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 444 ✭✭franklyshocked

    Spoke to the venue yesterday.
Response for tickets has been great. As this is a free event the tickets which have been reserved are available for collection at the box office at the Riverbank under your names.
The venue isn't posting out a large number of reserved tickets for a free event due to the cost involved, unfortunately.
You can collect tickets from the box office at any stage up to the event or easier still on the day as your seat is now reserved.

Looking forward to seeing you all there :)

I'm assuming a good few, between this thread and the facebook site.
The box office tells me they've had a good run on enquiries over the last few weeks so it looks like we'll have good numbers attending on the day.
    Roll on Sunday

Response so far has been good and I really want to organise something on a larger scale next time, this was all done working to a tiny budget but just to see what the response would be like. I also think the fact we wanted to keep it free to everyone has worked out well.
Might run another in the new year and try and get more people on board.
    Watch this space

See ye all in the morning :)

Thanks to everyone that made it out. I had a really good day and it was nice to meet everyone.
Going to plan another for the new year when the weather is better. Anf deffo looking at a Saturday next time round.

Got a really nice crowd. Perfect for the location.
Weather was sheeet and hampered a few in the end but in the end we had almost 70 DJ's/Producers at the high point and a core of hardcore fans of over 40 that stayed till we got kicked out at the end of the day.
The software workshops went well, The discussion forum was really good too, DJ Flip was savage on the decks and Futuresounds.ie had some excellent hardware on display.
For those that missed it, you really did miss out.
    Next time!
