i will book the hotel as soon as possible, just in case someone else decides to run something else on the same day of this clash, like maybe a ludo competition or full contact scrabble

When and where is the ludo competition on much prefer that to poker.:D

    derailing = ludo comments
being held in a private room as its now an underground thing, black ops etc, you know how it is

    how about a 5-card stud

    1 down and 4 up

now there's a real game, have that and count me in please

5-card draw too, put me down for that too

    lesser played types of poker

    omaha with 2 flops
holdem with 4 cards, drop 2 after the flop
hi-low omaha, 6 cards, drop 2 after the flop, 2's wild
5-card stud, no looking at the hole card, until after the river
7 card sweat, a set or better to take down the pot
7 card brag, must win all 3 hands to take the pot, 2-3card hands and a 1 card hand, 3X3's is the top ranked hand here followed by aces etc a set beats a str8 flush, otherwise general poker hand rules apply
split deck short handed 5 card draw poker

i will play any of these in a dealers choice game tournament
as will many a maniac, there are plenty of them out there

    derek

There will be some craic in july. i figure it will 8 pints and then a knockout... someone should make book... is there a fair bit of alternative accommodation within half mile? just so i can follow posts which area is the tower hotel in. to be fair this thread needs to be cleaned up more. from a third party pov dont know waterford or the main characters involved here so its confusing as hell.

is there a fair bit of alternative accommodation within half mile?

    Yes. Plenty of alternate hotels/b&b.

Off the top of my head

The Marina: Just behind the tower hotel
Dooleys: A bit further down the quay
B&B beside the credit union heading towards town
Granville: Along the quay. Closer than dooleys.
    Best Western Belfry

    Or just click here: http://maps.google.com/maps?source=ig&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF8&q=hotel+waterford&fb=1&split=1&gl=ie&ei=AGunSuzuNJ_MjAfrvam1CA&z=14

ETA: some of the places on that map don't appear to exist  (or certainly not where they claim to be)

Hope to qualify for this :). When do qualifiers start Kelly. Will there be online satts. Hope you gonna have ISOP bracelets as well :D

For the craic there should be some sort of ISOP trinket. Something cheap and cheerful that shows irish humour and wont take anything away from the tournament.

We are working on something differnt for this and they cant be cheap and cheerful , we have to build this event over the coming years

All looks great, hope to satellite in but if not will buy straight in anyway and hopefully make the trip over for the full festival.

Been a while since I came back to Ireland for a live tournament and have to say I hate all this bitching that seems to go on in Irish poker circles.

Let everyone run their events, and focus on making your own events as good as you can possibly make them, then there will be no need for the mud-slinging towards each other to attampt to make the other look bad, because all it achieves is to make Irish poker look bad, which no-one wants.

ps.please to all online satellites being freezeouts

I love this idea an ISOP. Can I urge you Neil to look at arranging it for the weekend after the Waterford Masters.

Then all the players can stay down for the week and two weekends playing the Waterford Masters then all the ISOP events. You could even arrange games for the Monday as well. A complete 10 days of Poker Heaven. ( not sure of the location like, i'm sure Waterfordians would correct me) but this would be the best idea for everybody and i am sure it could be the biggest 10 days of poker any town in Ireland ever.

Even the london EPt and WSOPe did it. Back to back with no hassle.

Could you look at it in the interests of Irish poker.. (i am really reaching now)

We could Nicky Power to run sight seeing trips...........a real treat

    Hi Iain ,

We tryed to talk to the lads on changing there date but they had the same view, why cant ye change yours and thats fair point, we would have been supporting each other but unfortunately it cannot be done , We cannot get 6 days together on this in Waterford bar these dates unless a wedding is cancelled in the meantime .

As it says the Show must go on . A clash if avoided woudl have been great and we could say we have 200 qualified but until i have money for seats we have 0 qualified .

    Regards

    Neill

Donkaments are breakeven ventures anyway, side/cash games are where the money is. If numbers are divided then both could lose on the donkaments and then rely on cash to make it up. Better get the rake announced imo.

Neill tell Richie and Keith to cancel there wedding so you can move the date. Just movethe main event so as not to clash then let ppl decide whether to play the 400 NLH or your other games Omaha ect

    Limit is 250 Players .

Dates will be changing to two weeks before this date as we have secured new dates in the Tower Hotel due to a Cancellation .. So all should be good for both events in Waterford . We will also be supporting the Waterford Masters at this event , As i said from the off if a clash could be avoided i would . Will post a full new thread after Killarney

    Regards
