    My feedback today is about how strict the site is getting, there's hardly room for a bit of craic and a sense of humour....................or is that just the case for some people.
    It seems there's one rule for mates of mods, and another for everyone else. The double standards is ridiculous but mention that and then the mods will be gunning for you, taking every chance they possibly can to ban you.

    For example since when was dragging a thread slightly off topic in AH a permaban offence?? http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055670845

    Or when is posting 'i'm not a ginger' in the thread '10 things i love about me' in the the ladies lounge a 3 month ban offence?? It got 5 thanks so obviously some people found it funny but just because some mod has a lack of sense of humour i get banned. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=61593377#post61593377

    Getting offended by a ginger comment, come on now get real, do these ridiculously easily offended people never watch programmes such as 8 out of 10 cats or Jonathon Ross or Graham Norton or even the fricken Late Late show which has acts like Tommy Tiernan taking the p1ss and making jokes about all sorts.
    If my ginger comment offends ya god f*cking help you in the real world!!!

    In my opinion the site is becoming too PC and mods with little chips on their shoulders, vendettas and superiority complexes are ruining things and cutting out the fun. This is not the case for all the mods, just some of them of course.

    Dr bollocko's post yesterday showed exectly what the rules are on this site.It dosent matter what you say or how you say it,if its not to a certain few mods liking,your in for a ban.Not fair really,especially on the op.

    Ok, I could just tear your post apart for inconsistencies and we could go around in circles with you again but that really gets us nowhere and I'm really not interested in it.

    I want to try to be as honest with you about this whole issue as I can so that maybe you'll understand things from our position (by 'our', I mean those who try to set the direction of the site and its forums).

    Yes, boards.ie is quite PC in places and there are times where people are banned for what they see (legitimately) as witty banter. However, the mods of the individual forums are tasked with setting the direction of the forum in question. Often, that's because the forum might have been their idea in the first place, in which case they will have their own ideas as to what they want for the forum. As you can see, many forums are quite successful off the back of this premise.

    Another major part of the work mods do for their forum is to guage the temperament of the forum and get to know what sort of things most people will be happy with. No one can be asked to please all of the people all of the time, and that's why there are so many forums on boards. It's to tailor to those who want to have somewhere, say, like the Ladies Lounge, but where they can say things not allowed in tLL.

    As forums grow, they gain certain characteristics and there are certain norms set. In your example, I believe (though I cannot be completely sure) that there is a very strict 'no personal abuse' rule which would cover insensitive comments in relation to appearance. Now, in AH, as you well know, that comment would probably have made it to post of the day. But it wasn't made in AH.

    Another option for users might be to consider applying for membership to some of the more risqué forums on the site where almost anything (with obvious exceptions) goes and you can saturate whatever desires you have in relation to off-the-cuff vitriolic-yet-funny comments.

    That's the stand-point from which we work. If you find a forum too PC, find somewhere not so PC to talk about the same thing. (Some will be private.)

    Just because i've been banned before doesnt mean the banning was right.

    Well then why was it ok for the poster before me to have 'i'm not a dwarf' as one of his things he loved about himself but one post later i cant slag gingers.

    So is it ok to slag dwarfs but not gingers in the ladies lounge, what about ginger dwarfs, ooh there's a difficult one for ya to moderate.

    so you say there's inconsistencies in my first post, not as many as there are in modding decisions in TLL and AH eh.

    i agree with said whinging i must say. it's not even the mods this time, but in my view a number of other -more pc perhaps?- users were causing a much larger degree of 'derailing', but were not banned. i generally think bans can depend as much on somebody's post count as anything else in AH.

    Threads like these are what make me miss old feedback.

    Ranter gets banned for being a plank and comes here to rant and fight da powah, people try to reason with them, ranter ignores all logic and rational discussion and keeps going, people try to explain again in shorter words, ranter cries mod conspiracy, people give up trying to help and start subtly ripping the piss, ranter goes mental and starts screaming that boards is a government funded corporate socialist nazi fascist regime and demands to speak to an admin, people point and laugh and start throwing in gathering cards, ranter starts to lose mind and starts frothing at the mouth and claiming they are being denied their god-given rights, Dev whacks the nutcase and lolcats abound while we kill time waiting for the inevitably hilarious prison thread and legal threats.

    Do you ever wonder how sad someone's life must be that they come onto a website that they apparently hate to talk about how much it curtails their basic human rights and then spend a number of hours pissing and moaning about how unfair everything is and how terrible the place must be...

    ...and then, like a dog to its own vomit, ban after ban, back they come...

    I have little interest in any interaction with you. The reason for your ban being permanent is because this is your 4th AH ban. Every time you get banned the ban time goes up. Most posters tend to realise that after a point the problem is not in fact with the cruel evil moderators but with their behaviour on the forum. You seem to delight in trolling and dragging threads off topic. As soon as each one of your 3 previous bans was up you returned with the exact same behaviour. You never at any stage indicated that you realised what the ban is for or why we didn't want you behaving in such a way on after hours. It becomes clear after the 3rd ban was up and you came back with the exact same BS that you were never and will never learn. Therefore your ban is permanent. I've raised with the other AH mods. If one of them thinks I was harsh they can lift your ban. I certainly won't be.
    I won't be replying to you either as you have proven time and time again that it is pointless to do so. I have better things to do with my friday. Like poking my eyes out with chopsticks. Or smacking my head repeatedly off of a brick wall to see how quickly I start bleeding.
