Well i'm looking for a mid to late 60's chevrolet Impala. I've never seen one in ireland so not sure if i'm going to have any luck with this. I plan on this being a minor project, so it will need to be in moderate condition. PM me if anyone has one they are looking to offload.

This would just make life easier than having to get one from the states!

My bro went away to Oz leaving his perfect 1991 BMW 3.18is behind, its still nct'd and isnt a classic just yet but really isnt far off of it, we've just sold it for 2 grand but i think its worth far more-were we mad!?
It has full leather interior, Mtec body kit (original) and original features down to the radio and BMW torch & toolkit, dont have pics of the interior here but believe me when i say, its immaculate!

IMO no, you weren't done and did quiet well to get what you did for it.

Try your local motor factors, you might get lucky? Or Halfords, they can source stuff like that also.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,216 ✭✭✭Redrocket

    sift through this list: www.irishescortclub.com/index.php?showtopic=5860

It's mostly escort aimed but the parts and supplyers will probably stock capri parts also escort parts and capri parts can be compatible (depending). There's Irish and Foreign sites there, from my experience foreign is normally cheaper, I guess it also depends on which country you want your money to float around.

its for a project car i want to do
the efi is from a range rover donor
the efi stuff means ecu and other crap from the rangey,if i use su carbs they are easier to set up and tune

    Hi
I will be doing the opposite soon - converting my Range Rover from carbs to EFI - I will be using mappable ECU though - getting rid of the Lucas flapper system. Unfortunately I already have the replacement engine though (I'm swapping the whole engine rather than messing with the manifolds and heads etc. I'm not quite ready yet though but when I do go ahead (maybe a couple of weeks away) the old engine will be available with carbs (they are Strombergs though but I do have a pair of SU's on a Jag XJ6 inlet manifold also.)
So if you're not in too much of a rush. I would be interested in Range Rover, Jag or MG parts as a swap if you have anything like that.

Real Steel in the UK do a holley ,Edelbrock carb/inlet manifold combo which doesnt require the balancing of a twin set up,and works well I believe.

cool,i have the efi engine and bits removed from the rangie and the rest of it is gone,i will keep the stuff you have in mind as i think i will need the dizzy from the non efi engine

if i knew about you earlier we could have done an engine swap.
i will look into the stromberg carbs and see what they are like

    cheers

    Cool
On the dizzy - that really the only problem with the engine - the vacuum advance diaphragm is broken so the advance doesn't work. I think they can be got separately but I never bothered as I was swapping over.

Odd looking dash vents and knee roll - does it have Aircon?

Yep, it has air-con, but this will need to be regassed. Its a Japanese import model, so that may explain the combo of vents. By knee roll, do you mean the part of the below the console?

    price is negotiable btw ;)
