    WANTED

    A very long shot but.....

    Audi 200 5T (1977-1982) any condition as long as it can be restored.

    They're not easy to find, and the ones that are around seem to be pretty strong moneywise: There's a right hooker for sale in Germany (linky) for nearly 5k !!!! and it still doesn;t look very clean either...

    There's a lhd for restoration, and owner is still looking for 2k, mind you, 1979 means no vrt or tax...

    They are very hard to find, don't I know it!
    I have found one in the UK for small money which needs a full resto but, parts are a disaster and I can't find sills anywhere.
    Does anyone know if you can have a set of sills made?

    Is it a manual or am I going blind? Does anyone speak German?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,173 ✭✭✭overdriver

    Nein!

  • Registered Users Posts: 827 ✭✭✭PaulK_CCI

    it's a manual (schaltgetriebe=manual)

    Anhängerkupplung=towbar
    El. Fensterheber=electric windows
    Lederausstattung=leather
    Leichtmetallfelgen=alloys
    Schiebedach=sunroof
    Servolenkung=PS
    Sitzheizung=heated seats
    Standheizung=external heating
    Tempomat=cruise control
    Zentralverriegelung =central locking

    Karosserie braucht arbeit=body needs work !!!!
    Weitere Typ 43 auf Anfrage=more typ 43's available

    Maybe this guy has parts too?

    Thanks :D

    The manual was a rare factory option in RHD.
    He seems to have a shed full of type 43's. I'll send him a message in English when I get home and see what happens.

    Body needs work could mean anything from a little touching up to a pile of welding and a respray! It looks as if its been sitting there for a long time and it is a little rough so the price is a little strong imo!

    I remember a dark green one around the place, it was 200IZB or HZB as far as I remember, always admired it. Wasn't there one in Magnum PI too?

    There is a green one in Cork somewhere and a gold 5E in Dublin I think.
    And Higgins drove an Audi 5000 as it was called in the US in Magnum PI.:D

    Okay, a dealer near me (Carlow area) had one recently.

    It looks in good condition & he probably still has it.

    I'm thinking about moving on my Dolomite 1850. Not sure I really want to but with baby number 2 on the way I probably won't have the time to use it. I don't get the time to use it now! It's not running at its best at the moment but I reckon it's something simple, probably the coil. I'm hoping to sort this out at the weekend. Otherwise it's a good solid car, full length webasto style sun roof, tidy interior and Sprint alloys. It also has a manual overdrive box. The paint has faded a bit over the summer but the t-cut is in the boot! It's pretty quick too, not a million miles off Sprint performance but for a lot less money.

    If anyone fancies having a look over it drop me a pm and i'll get back to you asap.

    Gary

    It might help your sale if you put an asking price up, Gary.

    I know, I just wasn't sure what to ask for it. I think 1500 would be a fair price for it.
