Seriously, having to ask the question is as bad as wearing the colour.

actually now that i think of it, if pinks a girly colour then whats manly? and why can women wear any colour especially if its manly? though I still don't agree with it, but only because thats how my mind was set to think.

Glad this came back up again! There is absolutely no problem whatsoever in wearing pink even as a pale irish man.

The majority of Irish men are so backward in their thinking that if you put your arm around them - means you are gay!

OP do what you like! Some lads will follow your lead.

I certainly am not ashamed to wear pink and even have a fuschia Tommy Hilfiger jumper that looks good with a white t-shirt underneath it, accompanied with jeans!

We are miles behind our UK counterparts and light years behind our US counterparts

Serious question - Is it ok for a straight man to wear pink these days without being accused of being a fairy??

Of course it is,no problem. This is the 21st century for christs sake.
Just make sure the high heels ,stockings and corset are all the same colour, that way they won't clash.

Nothing wrong with wearing pink but you need a pretty even, preferably darker complexion to carry it off.

    This is true.

im straight and wear pink regularly.

dont see anything wrong with it.

occasional slagging from the lads but much more compliments from the ladies .

makes you look a lot more self confident. :D

When The Youths brought out their pink strip, it was laughed about for a while by the sheep shagging GAA heads. Now it a best seller at the club with boys/girls/men/women. Nobody (other than visitors to the County) gives it a curious glance anymore when worn down the main street in the town

From a female point of view it is DEFINITELY ok for men to wear pink, they always look great in it. Why should it be just reserved for us women?!! You'll look great :D;):D

Isn't it interesting how the unusual can become the norm.

The problem with boards.ie is that you don't know the age of the people replying hence some of the comments.

Its IS bad to wear a pink polo shirt, no two ways about that.

This on the other hand worn with a black jacket is perfectly acceptable.

    I would never wear pink, it's a sh!t colour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,423 ✭✭✭tinkerbell

No, it makes you look like a tool.

Only gay men should wear pink if they so choose. A straight guy wearing pink just looks stupid.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,476 ✭✭✭McArmalite

No, except many of those who post over on the military forum as they'd feel more comfortable in pink than combat gear :)

my two brothers wear pink tops a lot, and they both are a pair of horn dogs who get a lot of women! I wouldn't like my own boyfriend wearing it though but it seems to be the new "in" colour for men so if its the fashion, its nothing to do with sexuality.

Look, if a guy wants to wear pink shirts, listen to Celine Dion, have sex men, watch sleepless in seattle, eat quiche or compliment women on their shoes, it doesn't mean he's gay...

Actually, scratch the third one tbh.

There is a reason why there is no word for pink in the Irish language.

Yes there is. It's called whitered.

Pink is a horrible colour. I don't think it suits most men just from a fashion viewpoint. Other than that wear it if you want. I wouldn't be caught dead in pink tho... Purple is where its at!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,727 ✭✭✭Midnight_EG

    It's not pink, it's salmon!

If you wear pink, it means either:

    1) You're gay

    or

    2) You're a poser who loves yourself

This kind of male will also be found using a hair straightner before hitting the town, wearing fake tan and shopping for camp outfits in River Island.

Say that to the Stade Francais guys.....

Pink used to be the preferred colour on shirts worn by male members of the Stockholm elite.

This guy probably gets laid so much it is disgusting

Heh. The way people here act about it, you'd think being gay was contagious.

How insecure do you have to be to worry about whether or not people will think you're gay because you wear pink?! No one gives a **** what you wear.

My brother has a pink shirt that says "It's not pink, it's lightish red" lol

I'd honestly hope that the guys on here saying that the wearing of a pink shirt makes you gay are taking the piss. If not, how dark is it exactly back there in the dark ages?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

It's only a colour lads.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 473 ✭✭newmills

OP - your father should have had THE colour talk with you when you were about 10 or 11.
He would have explained that acceptable boys colours are blue, black and white.
He then would have told you that girls colours were pink, light pink and dark pink.
    Shame on your father.

Ah, but did you know that the pink jerseys that Bohs and Rovers wore this year as a breast cancer fundraiser were already produced for Wexford Youths as their kit this year, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute. Umbro had already put them in to production
