Thats the only thing I'll agree with you on, G man :D

Hook decried the death of rugby on TV when RTE broadcasted its last live ERC game (with Sky taking over).
Then a year later, appears on a commercial for Sky Digital telling everyone how great it is . . .

George Hook has his radio show and his RTÉ gigs, he's a lot more secure than someone like O'Shea.
Conor O'Shea is national director of the English Institute of Sport. I'd say that is much more stable than any fledgling media career

Heard that on today's programme too - so it will probably be 6.30! :D

I've just heard it's starting at 5:30. Mate rang Newstalk.

Hooky said today that the interview will be ar 5.30.

I'm actually going to it (i'm a student in UL) should be a bit of a laugh, should be a few fireworks!!

He wasn't always though. He was working for the RFU for ages, and he was hardly in a position to start laying into them.

Also, I don't think he'd do that anyway. Hook's just a confrontational guy in terms of his media persona.

Hooky's certainly getting a few personal digs in here. Its a bit like a guy interviewing his ex wife.

the web cam is well worth watching....Eddie goes from his usual blank expression to a hint of anger/discomfort at some of the questions !

Hence he could not really speak his mind if he had wanted to- the best pundits are ones with no agendas or hinderences from the speaking their own minds. It is a bit like I used to hate listening Thomas Castaignede as he just sat on the fence on everything would critcise nothing!! Hook often just says things to be controversial and cannot back up what he is saying!!

Is the interview over?, just remembered this now. Hard to know what's going on from the webcam.

Just finished now. It was a straightforward, but tough, interview, no major sparks.

    hook is pathetic fullstop.
the sooner that idiot is off the airwaves the better.
i'm not fan of eddie but this was just pathetic.

hes a rugby coach and hook spends most of his time trying to portray eddie as some bille-no-mates who couldn't hold a relationship with anyone, his father included

hook is an idiot - rugby interview my arse

Hook's interview technique was quite passive aggressive. In respect he asked tough questions. He wasn't out of order in anything he said. Eddie put this stuff in his book anyway and Hook picked up on a flaw Eddie has in keeping relationships. Plus George was right to question him in the issues regarding himself and Eddie. They played important roles in each other's lives

Think Eddie won the battle on this one, Hook was getting cheap with his shots towards the end and didnt manage to get anything from O'Sullivan.
O'Sullivan saves face, Hook just sounds like a babbling fool.

I thought Hookey handled it rather well and only threatened to lose the run of himself a couple of times. At the end he even extended an olive branch twig to Eddie and heaped praise on him, with the proviso that he would still feel entitled to call it as he sees it if Eddie returns to the Irish scene.
