@M17: The section on the M17 at Sheeaunpark looks to be by far the section that requires the most work, what distance in total is in this current state?
Are there similiar such sections on the M18?

That section at Sheeaunpark is 1.3 kms, sisk have more rock to clear before the drain work starts it will be at least may before the tarmac gose down, similar sections on the m18 are well advanced of that, they have 4kms of tarmac to do on the m17,around 11kms on the m18

Jesus, at the rate they're going, with fine summer weather (long nights, good tarmac laying weather), this could open before November.

With a bit of luck, the Department will see the benefits of an early opening of the Tuam BP and stump up the availability payments.

I wouldn't say his position is exactly secure at the minute with all the goings on.

And there's more to the Government than him. Especially a government with Sean Canney in it.

Mod: Politics is for the Politics forum. Please keep this to M17/M18 Progress.

I think the politicians you mention have very little to do with progress.

What a daft idea and waste of money!

So parents on the Lackagh side will drive kids to the end of the old N63 and have them walk across the footbridge to school? That will be well used

@M17: what is the significance of a Pedestrian Footbridge and the half way point along the m17 - I'm lost on that one?

The m17 is 25.5kms that footbridge is 12kms 750 metres form rathmorissy and tuam it looks a lot better than the one in tuam

    So its decorative then!
In fairness, what has the half way point on the M17 got to do with having a Pedestrian Footbridge?
Is there another Pedestrian Footbridge on the half way point on the M18? Don't think so.

I drove over the flyover at Coldwood over the weekend. Considering the length of time it's been built and not opened it has been left in a dangerous and disgraceful state to traffic.
