Brilliant pics as always. I hope whenever the N17 Dual is continued north eventually, you'll be out taking pics of that, too!

Is that the reason the M6 was closed last night?

No that's not the only reason sisk are also removing the vertical jacks that are on the three bridgesIMAG2706_zpspzvfpusa.jpgif you look closely at the pic ,you can see that the vertical jacks have been removed on the left and right side

Using M17's photo - the Ballygaddy Road flyover is fully open now (i.e. no lights), after the anti-skid surface shown above was put down.

What works remain so? Final coat of tarmac? Signage? Surely the shadow boxing will stop and there will be some commitment to open the Tuam BP and M17 in advance of the M18.

Every pic shows a curve in the distance, are there more curves on this motorway than the usual

The M18 section is twisty enough like the Gort-Crusheen section. The M17 part is straighter alright but the M17 part was always planned as motorway.

    Meaning the m18 part wasn't?

I think the M18 was always planned as an HQDC. The existing parts were redesignated motorway, meaning the new part will be motorway too.

The M18 stretch was a planned HQDC redesignated in 2009. The M17 part was always to be built under motorway order.

Open to correction but I'm fairly sure that was the case.

It's been a while since I have been on here as I lost my job as the company I was working for is blaming BREXIT for their decision to pull the plug on Ireland.

I was in Galway yesterday and decided to visit Limerick and pulled off the M18 at junction 13. In which I was actually scared to be on as the had a rock breaker above on the bridge digging up the footpath, putting down some big 6 inch cable. Will the structure of Junction 13 on the M18 be weakened now?

I then noticed around Ennis they have numerous cycle lanes which cyclists are not obeying and you the the motorist are being nearly being pushed into the path of an oncoming car. As for the Clare County Council and I'll say it again. They've money to paint the roads of Ennis town red like a bank balance sheet but no black money to fill a basic pothole out in Rural Ireland.

    ^^^

Cyclist not obeying what? Cyclists are not obliged to use cycle lanes
Must be a fairly hardy cyclist to pedal along and push a car across the road at the same time.

    (Apologies for OT)

Well, they should be obliged once the facilities are reasonable.
