Not yet but don't worry anything that moves or opens it will be right here

Best reports I've seen of any road scheme on boards. Well done m17. It'll be fantastic to have one motorway/dual standard road that doesn't lead to Dublin soon.

ironically fitting that when 2 motorways meet in Galway, they manage to incorporate a feckin roundabout into the design !

Seeing it in a photo rather than on paper, it doesn't look quite as bad as I'd imagined.

Well, it could be a roundabout or it could be a grade separated junction, depending on how they paint it. If there are no 'Give Way' signs then it is not a roundabout - motorist merely merge across the various bits to get where they are going.

On the other hand, they will probably paint it as a roundabout with Give Way signs because that's what they do.

    https://galwaybayfm.ie/high-level-meeting-organised-congestion-deemed-bigger-threat-galway-brexit/

Article mentions that the traffic from the M6 terminal roundabout was back as far as J19 this morning. God help us when this scheme opens.

Obscene amount of traffic for a place the size of Galway

I realised that when I saw the approach angles. Pity because it could be free-flow if the angles were better laid out.

I hope they do not put traffic lights on it.

I've always wondering if they refill sample holes afterwards, and if they use concrete or asphalt?

Concrete, they can get the right compaction in such small holes using tarmacadam.
