That noise barrier on the bridge is ugly AF. They don't look as bad at all on the Charlestown bypass just at the side of the road but it looks really stupid on the bridge.

Don't know if anyone here is 'in the know' about how to organise this - we can all agree that these pages would be NOTHING without the postings from M17 and his brilliant pictures. Would it be possible to get him involved in the official opening of the scheme? Some big politician will probably cut the ribbon, but maybe he could be included in the photo or be allowed to be the first person to drive on the newly opened road? Any thoughts or ideas.......?

Hear Hear! it would be well deserved recognition for valuable public service...

Or petition Galway Advertiser/Galway Independent/Tuam Herald / Irish Independent that M17 be the official photographer for the opening day?

Ssshhh or he will learn about these plans!:D

Nice idea, but no chance of cutting the ribbon, being in a picture, or being the first to drive the route - every politican west of the Shannon will be ahead of him in that queue!

Now sending links of this forum to the relevant road construction companies might unearth a role in PR/media on their next projects! The dream job - getting paid to do something you love doing and do anyway! ;)

I hear sisk made an underpass too small .not wide enough. How the hell could that happen. Apparently it was over a metre too short.

Sounds like a cattle underpass, therefore not meant for vehicles to use.

Noticed some beech hedging has gone up around the Mountpotter roundabout in the last week or so along with some new signs for Claremorris / Sligo. And this morning around 715am i noticed a large artic unloading a big bunch of fairly mature trees a the same roudabout...nice to see it all coming together now :-)
