Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i just thought id give the general public out there some tips for things to look out for when getting a taxi .
[the usual taxi hate brigade please stay away we,ve heard them all before ].
this is in your interest because a bogie or unlicenced taxi will not be insured and god forbid anything happened .
1... check the roofsign number .
2... there should be TWO yellow circles with details of the car and dates [ie insurance disc size ] on the left hand side of the front and back window .
3... the details should be all in date and the roofsign number should be the same .
4.... the driver MUST have his id card on CLEAR display and must be the person in the photo .
5... the meter MUST always be used on a journey [unless an agreed fare has been set then the passenger AND driver sign a weiver form ]
6... the driver MUST be able to PRINT you a reciept at the end of a journey .
these points ive made are in your interest as the passenger as there are quite a few bogie unlicenced taxis out there [contrary to what the taxi regulator would have you believe ] .you would not believe the amount of taxis that disappear from dublin city when the taxi enforcers are about .
so stay safe .hope this helps .
