I have not heard any reply but I thought that perhaps this forum would be a good place to get feedback / discussion.

Will allow me to carry on this interesting discussion.

Creationism in Quran is mentioned in different verses, Some of which delt with creation of the world and others with the human race.

While you can only find one quran in Arabic, no matter where u pick your copy from eg egypt, saudi arabia, Pakistan or even a copy in the US, there are many translations to English. Although they try to keep the meaning as precise as possible, there are always some varieties in the words used. However, in chinese whispers there are always new concept or meanings while in Quran you can always refer to the Original arabic book itself.

"Did the infidels not consider that the heavens and earth were closed up, then We opened them out? And We made every made
living thing from water. Will they then believe?"

This verse discusses how the skies were separated from the earth rather than the bigbang. It states clearly in Arabic( am a native arabic reader) how they were "one peice" , and this is the exact arabic translation, " seperated" etc. the cool this is it stated clearly after that separation that God almighty created from water every living thing. This atmosphere theory suggests that early oceans were formed in that pattern that was stated in that verse!

read about the atmosphere "Evolution". here is a link for a start

    51.verse 47
Another verse that discusses the universe expansion says:"We have built the heaven with might, and We it is Who make the vast extent (thereof). "

Allah almighty said in his holy book
"And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit. "

    ِ
And Just recently, not 1400 years ago!, they discovered that the sun has an orbit

Read about the Galactic year or the Cosmic year.

Ill be back for more cause its getting late..:o

The idea that the Sun has an orbit pre-dates the Quran. It was believed back then by many (probably the dominant view in the region) that the Moon and the Sun orbited the Earth. Note it is the Earth not the galaxy that the Sun was believed to orbit.
