Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have 5DMk1 about 10 months and I have purchased Canon 24-70/2.8L USM. I think that it is the best multi-purpose lens for that camera. Weather sealed, wide enough for landscape and indoors, wide aperture range, perfect focal length for portraits and with the amount of pixels you have, you can always crop. When open wide, it has a slight tendency to vignette a little, at least with a filter on.

I've rented and bought lenses from ISS in the past, you should give them a shout.

Or in relation to Thonda's recommendation I would also say the 24-105L IS.
While it's it's a stop down at f/4 it has longer reach, Image Stabilisation and is lighter, def a great all round lens.
The Pro's say it's a tad sharper but you literally would have to be a pro to tell....and that's debatable...oh it's also a bit cheaper.

I was going to recommend the 24-105 too - great lens!

There's a great comparison article of the 24-70mm and the 24-105mm over in luminous-landscape.com. It might help you make your mind up. :)
