Ah, I can't believe what happened. Great episode though. Agree, Damon was really good in this episode and we saw that he really does care about Elena underneath all his bravado !

Is Vicki dead then?....i suspect not!, think damon revived her somehow. Hope Kayla Ewel is not gone from the show. Her character had alot of potential to cause (boy) mayhem!

You never know in these shows but I thought she was dead which did seem like a bit of a waste! Why bother turning her into a vamp and then just kill her off. I hope she isn't, but it looked like she was.

Arielle Kibbel is a stunner!! :eek: ....her character was good as well, shame they killed her off right away, would liked to have seen her in a few eps.

Faris will play Ben, an ex-high school football star-turned-bartender at the Mystic Grill. “He’s Matt’s buddy,” says a Vampire insider. “He gets entangled in the group when a broke Matt takes a job at the Mystic Grill.”
The Vamp source also hints at a possible romance between Ben and one of the show’s females

OMG!....Logan, so is he a vampire?....he's GOT to be?, that new teacher must be a vampire as well. Since you've have to be invited into a home etc.

That was pretty good, the whole Bonnie/Emily plot...as much as Elena protests about Stefan and keeping away it's obvious they are drawn to each other and love one another, the pain of both Stefan and Elena at the end is obvious.

Kitty....it's not over here as yet, if someone picks it up it'll be late January. I suspect E4 might pick it up. Good episode though, still keeping me interested....

Ratings, steady as she goes: CW’s Vampire Diaries stayed even with last week with a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49, just behind the NBC comedies. It had a 3.0 rating for women 18-34, that may have won its hour, I am checking. Supernatural was up to a 1.3/1.4 rating for adults 18-49 from a 1.2 last week. It tallied a 1.6 rating for women 18-34.

Glad to see the back of Logon. I really did not like that guy. Seems like Mr Saltzman is a good guy and is he a vampire. I know all signs are leading us to believe he is, but I've a funny feeling he may not be. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it!! Do you think he has some links to Elena's family?

You knew Elena had to find out sooner or later that she looked exactly like Katherine!! Wonder who the guy was in the middle of the road?

I thought Logan was great!....he delivered some good lines. This ep. was action packed from start to finish!....it was very fast paced, they packed alot into 42 mins. Mr. Saltzman, well he wears a ring...but staked Logan, ?

Still think he's a vamp, Elena finds out about Catherine!....and they got jiggy, i like the fact that it took 10 eps. for them to jump into bed, as other shows would have them doing it by the second ep.

Is this the mid season finale?....did you see the ratings decline?, New Moon had the OPPOSITE effect!, the tweens were all out at the movies :-)

Nah, I just didn't like his character. Now, Mr Saltzman I am liking!! I know, it's all pointing towards him being a vampire, but I just wonder if they are trying to make us believe that and then he turns out to be human. The Ring, the waiting to be asked into the house etc obviously point towards him being a Vamp.

Haha, that's gas. Yeh, they were obviously all at the movies!! It will probably pick up next week and the week after.

I really feel this show has grown so much over the past few episodes and it's now a real contender!

The show has definitely improved from the first few episodes. Certainly better than Smallville, although that wouldn't be hard.

I'd agree that Mr Saltzman is probably human even though all the clues say otherwise. He seemed kind of nervous when Logan was approaching him which wouldn't be the case if you were a vampire.

If I was a vampire in a town with wooden bullets I'd be wearing a stab or bullet proof vest. It would significantly increase their survival.

Heads up Vampies!!....TVD returns for fresh eps. from tomorrow!....the mid season finale was fantastic, so really looking forward to see what happens.

I can say with 100% certainty that TVD *will* get a second season, it's numbers are off the chart for The CW.

Good stuff!....twists are turns galore + new revelations, the guy in the road....his identity won't be reveled as yet, according to a recent interview with Nina Dobrev, 9 week hiatus hit it's ratings a bit:

It's still solid, but demo numbers dropped....i'm sure it'll recover. Very good ep. overall...i really do like this show, i think Williamson/Plec are doing a standup job.

Really enjoyed this episode. So Stefan is the reason that Elena is still alive and she found out that she's adopted. We also know Mr Saltzman back story. Damon's past is going to catch him out sometime!!

I was shocked when Stefan said he knew Elena before, had been watching her....and he saved her life!, clearly Mr. Salzman is not a vampire (you were right Shinny) and is out for revenge.

Damon must have tons of enemies, he seems to kill everyone...if people pop up from time to time to try kill Damon it should be good fun! :-)

I know, it was funny though that he had just dealt with a consequence of his past actions and another one is just about to come at him. Great!

Did you like the interaction between Damon and Elena on their Roadtrip? I did. She saved his life but then he killed the witch behind the Bar. I'm sure Elena would be horrified to know that. I like that they show a nicer side of Damon when he's around Elena, but I'm glad that he still has this bad/evil edge to him.

I thought it was gas when the girl behind the bar said "isin't he great in the sack"...lol, the look on her face!

I wonder if Elena will "go there" with Damon?, i mean...they have to break up right?, it is The CW!!! :-)

But yeah it was nice to see there interactions, she'd be stupid to trust him, just because she saved his life dosen't mean he wouldn't a bite out of her if it suited his agenda!

Though i do think he's drawn to the Catherine he sees in her.

Another excellent ep.! -- when yer vampire man was on the roof of the living room i thought it was curtains for Elena!, so mystery road man revealed....a trio of vamps doing the rounds eh?

Actually i didn't suspect Jeremy's library chum would be a vamp!, nice little twists in this ep.

Shocked more regular FMs don't watch this show!

I hadn't suspected her up until the start of this episode, but I didn't think Ben the barman was one too!

So Mr Saltzman's wife is Elena's mystery Isabella? She seemed a bit too young to be her mother, but then again she was only 16 when she had her so it's plausible. I doubt Mr Saltzman is the father, obviously Isabella had some history before she met her husband.

Good to see the ratings are back to normal.
