Nokia N71 - Sim Card issues

I've had my Nokia N71 for about two weeks now, and today is the first time I've had a problem with it. It was working fine around lunchtime, then afterwards it kept asking me to insert the sim card, even though I hadn't removed it, the battery nor the back cover! It's been annoying me for a couple of hours now, nothing…

It was working fine around lunchtime, then afterwards it kept asking me to insert the sim card, even though I hadn't removed it, the battery nor the back cover! It's been annoying me for a couple of hours now, nothing wrong with sim card (tried it in other phones) and I've been putting the sim card in and out several times in the hope that my phone will eventually work! It allows me to view my messages, contacts, photos etc., but it's in offline mode so I cannot recieve or make any calls or texts.

Help please!

Sometimes a little paper/ light card behind the sim does the trick
