60 of us took the HCAP MCQ exam last Wednesday night at Laragh in Wicklow. You must correctly answer 40 from 50 questions 80% pass mark.
Some of the questions were hard enough but if you read the HCAP manual and get as much other reading in you should pass.

A good place to start is
    http://www.bestpracticeguides.org.uk/

Next is a range test to show that you are able to shoot a rifle and know your safety around guns.

Did you do the HCAP with the WDAI or the (infamous) IDS?
I only ask because the WDAI practice of putting names up on the web is to my mind not the best for security.
I could be a touch paranoid but then again:D

only hunting deer with friends for one season as observer, just did the HCAP test last week. Studied the manual they provide, took some notes and passed. Easy read if interested in the subject. READ the questions carefully before answering though!

For the target assessment, do you need to have the correct caliber i.e. .243 or greater.

Can the use of a .22/.17 be enough to demonstrate acceptance?
