Does anyone know why they are putting in a hump in the road at the South end ? did they get the bridge too high or something ?

Also, what's the story with the cycle lanes etc, can't seem to find anything da web ?

There's a hump on the north side as well but not as severe as on the south side. I suspect it's to allow some river traffic under it. The tide also comes in quite high on that stretch of the river. There will be cycle lanes on it and there are already cycle lanes on both quay sides. Apparently it;s going to be part of a cross city cyle route.

Define hump? Do you mean the junction is raised?

They are raising road level in the area as it is very low lying and the expect tidal levels to get worse.

Thi will seriously give more room to move on the upstream bridges.

I still have this icky feeling that Dublin needs more bridges. The Luas bridge with a bus lane/cycle lane between O'Connell street needs to be doing ASAP...
