Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Handy one :)

Get in 2-0 Shot from Benni keeper save and Kuyt tap-in for the finish :D

Another else when Benayoun running through Gerrard had to swerve his run as he was taking up the same position as Benni?

    Nice shot from GJ there.

Could be a few more goals in this.

Gerrard nearly caps a beautiful move.

brilliant, i knew kuyt was gonna score, first time in my FF team this season! :D

Good shot from Stevie and great save by Jensen there

Pretty much most of the Liverpool team have had a shot at goal already (even Skrtel) Anyone think they were told in pre-match preparations to shoot from distance at Jensen or is it just a case of space opening up?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Burnley are leaving too much space right in front of goal, there has been a little "oasis" for players to run into. I'm sure Coyle will look to keep it filled but then that means less committed to getting forwards quickly

The ref blew too soon :(

Im happy so far, hopefully we got more goals in the second half.

Benni MOTM so far - Confirms what I've long thought - he's best playing central off the striker where he can cause havoc than out wide - almost a pity as he's not going to dislodge Gerrard from there long-term.

    Good performance so far.

Fingers crossed for the clean sheet.

    In other top four news
Chelsea and Arsenal both 1-0 down :D

a worrying half time stat was our attacking areas.

81% of our attacks came through the middle. only 7% down the left. Really shows our lack of wide options, especially with benny playing in the centre.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

So what? Burnley left a hole open to attack through, so Liverpool did.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Riera hasnt looked great today which might account for the lack of action on the left

Also on the right it looks like Burnley have tried to set themselves up to take into account GJ attacking down the right

Its amazing how quiet our match threads are when we're winning :D

Riera is having a shocker, any news on why Babel isnt on the bench again?

Wonder if Babel is missing because of his words in the press?

Will be interesting to see what Rafa does with his subs

It's a terrible shame Gerrard cant play midfield anymore;). He's clearly been the weak link today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

What minute will degen get injured in? :pac:

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 10,259 ✭✭✭✭Melion

WTF - why did he take GJ off? Feck sake.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

CL midweek, makes sense. Torres is being kept fairly quiet.

    :(Almost a hat-trick for Benni.

Should have been a hat-trick, he was onside.

N'Gog about to come on, im shocked he's left Riera on for the 90 minutes, if Babel played that bad then he would have been hauled off.

Jesus Christ, Lou Macari should never be allowed to cover another Liverpool game again, the way he's going on you'd almost swear they were losing 3-0. Unbelievably negative.

Fecks sake Gerrard did everything but score there. N'Gog coming on.

Ouch by Stevie - would have been a tasty goal

He's linked to United, would you expect anything else from him?

After 10 minutes of the match he said it was the worst passing performance he had ever seen from Liverpool.

    Hat trick for Yossi.

Serious selection headache for Rafa next week. Surely he cant drop him after this. He HAS to play behind Torres.

Rafa will probably play him on the left.

    Delighted for Benayoun, delighted,

love him as a player and have always thought he could do it at a big team,

hope he can keep his place this season now.

Drop Torres? Another smart (near) assist from Voronin there
