if [latex]y = x^n[/latex]
then [latex] \frac {dy}{dx} = (n)x^{n-1} [/latex]

[latex] \int{ (n)x^{n-1} \,dx} \,[/latex]

[latex] = n\int x^{n-1} \,dx[/latex]
