Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Team: Friedel; Cuellar, Collins, Dunne, Warnock; Milner, Sidwell, Reo-Coker, Young, Petrov, Agbonlahor.

Yep, Cuellar ar RB. Jaysus, that is infuriating.
You were right whoever said it.

    Good to see 4-5-1.

Don't understand why Beye isn't playing, must be some good reason.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,246 ✭✭✭Esse85

I feel sorry for Cuellar, cant understand my Beye isnt starting. Its a big test for the defense, 3 players are making their debut. Just as well Brum are only playing 1 striker.

    any streams going?

if they are, they will be in the new streams sticky.

not the best of starts tbh Birmingham having a lot more decent posession than id like

As the game settles down Villa seem to be getting into it and getting a lot more possesion / having more attacks. If only Milner could improve his finsihing though he would be some player. There are still too many aimless long balls up to Gabby for me though

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭One Cold Hand

Half Time. Seems to have been even enough in terms of possession, but a few more chances for Villa. Good start for Dunne, losolid. Milner probably Villas best player.

We're so bad to watch. We hardly put 5 passes together. Sidwell has been non existant.
We've offered nothing as an attacking threat. Milner for all his hard work just lacks class in finishing.
Warnock started dodgy, gave away some silly frees and the 2 new CB's are hitting direct all the time.

Nothing positive from that half, although it could be worse.

Things need to improve 2nd half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 857 ✭✭✭wynters

Very harsh. It's a derby...! Never gonna be the prettiest of games. Sidwell's broken things up ok if you ask me. Hopefully when things settle down a bit in the 2nd half our extra quality should start to show...

Two half chances for MIlner alright though... snatched at... might have made more of them.

That Larsson lad should be on a yellow by now for persistent fouling. 3 or 4 on Warnock alone and then he blatantly shouldered Ash out of play... dirt.

Hows Seb Larsson getting on? He's my main interest in this match really

not doing anything special nor much wrong for Birmingham tbh but from a Villa point of view look at the post above yours. He's probably doing well similarily to most of Brum's players as Villa havent been doing as well as they'd like but there is time for their quality to rise to the fore still

edit: tbh he has prob been more involved than most of the players on the pitch.

if its for FF purposes he looks on course for 1, 2 or 3 points atm (yellow card maybe coming, play the whole game and villa score, play it and brum dont conceed)

There was a fair bit of hoof ball alright.

Carsley looking decent at the moment.

For me: Milner and Gabby off, Albrighton and Carew on.

And Collins is doing very well.

Woeful game so far, commentators think Webb is having a good game, the fact is, letting so much go is making it worse not better IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Going for a 1-0 win to Birmingham. They look more of a threat going forward than Villa at the moment.

It'll take something special I think though because Villa have been defending quite well. Collins is having a great debut.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭One Cold Hand

    Carew in for Reo-Coker.

It'd help if he was on the bench.

unfortunatley tis the only save Hart has had to make so far. Villa doing much better now.

why does Benitez's jersey have Chucho on it?

Probably wants his Christian name on it. Same with Gutierrez (sp?) for Newcastle. He has Jonas on the back of his jersey.
