Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    DotOrg has posted already that David LaChapelle is coming to Dublin this week.
    Lachapelle, a fine art photographer and director, is renowned for his iconic pop and celebrity images that for over the past two decades have continuously graced the pages of the leading fashion and entertainment magazines such as Vanity Fair, The Face, Rolling Stone, Vogue and Interview.

    Mixing glamour with surreal and comic fantasy, Lachapelle has created many memorable and striking images of luminaries such as Elizabeth Taylor, Pamela Anderson, Madonna, Elton John, Tupac Shakur and Britney Spears.

    His directing credits include music videos for artists such as Moby, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez. Lachapelle’s stage work includes Elton John’s The Red Piano concert which recently ended a five year run at Ceaser’s Palace in Las Vegas and which will be staged at Dublin’s 02 for one night on October 30th.

    Thanks to Canon, Boards.ie has been offered 10 places for Photography Forum members on a private workshop in Friday September 18 between 2.15pm and 5pm in Dublin 4.
    • 2.15pm – Registration opens
    • 2.45pm – Presentation by David LaChapelle on his work and techniques
    • 3.45pm – Q&A
    • 4.15pm – Free to look at the exhibition and Canon Zone
    • 5pm – Close

    The workshop event is being held in Treasury Holdings, Connaught House, 1 Burlington Road, Dublin 4 and is strictly by invite only.

    Would this be lost on a relative amateur?

    I'd love to go as some of his pictures are wonderful, but seeing who is going/is interested here would possibly put me off as I might be a bit of a newb in comparison(?)

    i'd say if you can get on the ticket then tag along - tbh, the programme doesn't look overly taxing - registration, talk, q&a, and gallery. You'd be fine i'd imagine.

    Coming from boards importantly gives the invite holder rights to sitting with the boardsie crew. Those are special places you know (probably next to the toilets :pac:) Nevertheless, you'll have to extend this right to Borderfox even though he'd have a canon pass. :D
